Drainage and grade
Grading Services
Engineered grading for foundation protection and proper drainage.
Rough and finish grading executed to specification. Protects foundations, prevents pooling, and provides a uniform surface for sod, seed, and hardscape installations.
What we deliver
The scope, written out plainly.
- Foundation grade correction
- Yard regrading and reshaping
- Swale and berm construction
- Drainage slope engineering
- Final grade for sod and seed
- Driveway and lot grading
How we work
The five-step process.
Survey the slope
We map existing elevations, identify low spots, and document where water actually goes during a hard rain.
Design the flow
We design positive drainage away from structures with swales, berms, and grade transitions that look natural.
Rough grade
Heavy equipment moves material to the new contours with grade stakes guiding every pass.
Finish grade
Box blades and hand work refine the surface to a smooth, plant-ready finish.
Stabilize
We seed, sod, or mulch as specified to lock the new grade in place before the next storm.
Frequently asked
Questions about grading.
Why does grading matter?
A bad grade sends water toward your foundation. Over time that causes wet basements, cracked slabs, dead turf, and erosion. A good grade quietly does the opposite for decades.
Can grading fix a wet basement?
Often yes. If water is hitting the foundation because the ground slopes the wrong way, regrading the perimeter is the most cost-effective first fix. We pair it with drainage when needed.
What is the difference between rough and finish grading?
Rough grading sets the major contours and drainage. Finish grading is the smooth, debris-free surface ready for sod, seed, or hardscape.
